Li & Li Couture — Production Management Platform

How we built a 13-module manufacturing operations system that freed the owner of a multi-unit garment manufacturer from the daily chaos of order tracking, shopfloor coordination, and time estimation.

THE CHALLENGE

The owner of a growing garment manufacturer was drowning in operational detail: orders arriving from Shopify, Instagram DMs, and WhatsApp; no visibility into where each order was on the shopfloor; no reliable way to estimate delivery time per dress type. Every day required constant intervention to keep production moving.

THE OUTCOME

The owner stepped back from daily operations. The system handles order intake, shopfloor tracking, and time estimation automatically. Production can now be planned and scaled without the owner being the single point of coordination.

The problem

Li & Li Couture had grown quickly, but the operations hadn't kept up. Orders were coming in from multiple channels — Shopify, Instagram DMs, and WhatsApp — and landing in different places. There was no single view of what was in production, what was waiting, or what was ready to ship. Estimating delivery time for each dress type was a manual calculation the owner had to do personally, every day.

  • Orders from three different channels with no unified view
  • No shopfloor tracking — production status unknown without walking the floor
  • Delivery time estimation done manually per order type
  • Owner required to be the central coordinator for daily production

What we built

We built a 13-module manufacturing operations platform covering the full journey from order intake to dispatch, with a companion mobile app for shopfloor staff to log progress without needing a desktop.

  • Unified order intake from Shopify, Instagram, and WhatsApp
  • Shopfloor tracking with stage-by-stage progress logging
  • Time estimation engine per dress type, automatically calculated from historical data
  • Production planning dashboard showing capacity and backlog
  • Mobile app for tailors and production staff to update job status in real time
  • Dispatch management and delivery confirmation

The time estimation problem

One of the most valuable features was automating delivery time estimates. Different dress types take different amounts of time across different stages. We built a module that learns the actual time each step takes per garment category and uses that to generate accurate, automatically-updated delivery windows — removing the need for manual estimation and reducing the delivery misses that come from guessing.

The outcome

The owner moved from being the operational bottleneck to a position where she can focus on design, client relationships, and scaling the business. The platform handles coordination, tracking, and estimation. Production can now grow without needing proportionally more of the owner's time. That's the difference between a business that runs on you and a business that runs itself.

Is your business still running on you? Let's map what a tailored ops platform looks like for your operation.
